Ray Ju is currently engaged as a Business Project Management consultant at Blue Shield of California supporting the Cost of Healthcare strategic initiative. He has been a team leader in Chiron's Information Management department as a program manager. His responsibilities included spearheading the reengineering of the PMO, consulting to business unit customers, managing a project portfolio, developing and mentoring project managers, identifying and documenting best practices, and automating the service process. He has directly managed IT infrastructure projects such as Real Time Collaboration and BlackBerry, and built new offices in the United States and Hong Kong. His passion for project management is taught to graduate students as a staff adjunct instructor through a distance learning course, Project Planning, in the Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs program at San Diego State University. His Project Management speaking opportunities in the past year have taken him to venues with PMI audiences in Maui and Toronto, and with the Institute of Validated Technologies in Philadelphia. In 2006 he is scheduled to present to audiences at the Stem Cell Research and IT Portfolio Management conferences in San Francisco.

Ray has been an active member of PMI since 1987 and is certified as a Project Management Professional #560. He is Director of Speakers for the PMI San Francisco Bay Area Chapter and contributed to the development of the PMP Information Technology Certificate of Added Qualification examination. Spread across multiple areas of interest Ray is also associated with the PMI Pharmaceutical and PMO SIGs. He has gained, applied and shared his 20+ years of project management experience in organizations such as Cisco Systems, the City of Oakland, Sun Microsystems, Wells Fargo Bank and AT&T. His formal education includes a BA in Broadcast Communications, Masters Certificate in Project Management, MBA and is working towards completion of a MA in Leadership this coming October. His positive impact and influence on high performance project teams spans the globe from San Francisco to Shanghai and Siena. Ray truly believes in the balance of art and science in consistently delivering project success and exceeding the expectations of his customers while building long term relationships and expanding his global network.
